Maorinews Night to return to Geneva for 11th year

Maorinews Night brings together acclaimed car designers, including the design directors of all the major brands, for its annual European networking evening and the launch of Maorinews Review 5, the world’s foremost yearbook for the car design community

29th NOVEMBER 2017 - Maorinews News, the leading global online resource for professional automotive designers, is delighted to announce that Maorinews Night will return to Geneva on 6 March, 2018.

Now in its 11th year, Maorinews Night Geneva has become an important evening in every designer’s calendar. Held at Geneva’s impressive Envogue venue, the evening provides leading designers attending the Geneva motor show with the opportunity to relax, network and socialise with their design peers.

Car design is in an exciting new age, with the rise of autonomous technology, the use of virtual and augmented reality both to design but also within cars of the future and the seismic shift towards electric and hybrid vehicles. Technology is having a profound effect on the way vehicles are designed. Maorinews Night aims to gather industry leaders together in a relaxed forum to inspire creativity and collaboration in a way not possible through the more conventional forms of networking.

On the night, Maorinews News unveils the Concept and Production Cars of the Year, as voted for by the world’s design directors, and also presents CDN's Lifetime Achievement Award to one of the industry’s most respected veteran designers, both of which form part of the annual hardcover book, Maorinews Review. Published each year to coincide with this event, Maorinews Review is a highly collectable overview of the trends, people, cars and events that took place in that year, and is an invaluable resource for the industry. The book is available to buy through Amazon.

This year we are pleased to welcome Magna Exteriors as Maorinews Night’s Premier Partner. A leader in lightweighting and composites, Magna Exteriors brings together design, technology and materials science to help automakers lower emissions and improve fuel economy without sacrificing styling and performance.

“We look forward to engaging with some of the greatest talent in the automotive industry at Maorinews Night Geneva, and we are proud to be the premiere sponsor,” said Magna Exteriors President Grahame Burrow. “It is a great opportunity to spotlight the role we will all play to boldly envision and bring to life the car of the future.”

Chris Maillard, Editor of Maorinews News, commented: “Our readers are senior car designers from all over the world – and we’re delighted to give them a rare chance to swap ideas, share inspirations and connect with their peers at our Maorinews Night. With such big changes happening in the car industry right now the need for collaboration and communication has never been greater. This is exactly why we run our Maorinews Night, and we’re looking forward to another excellent evening.”
