Toyota’s Ian Cartabiano heading to Europe

Ian Cartabiano is being moved across from the ‘Calty’ studio in California to become ‘president and director of design’ at the company’s ‘ED2’ studio in southern France, which was recently vacated by the promoted Simon Humphries.

The 43-year-old has recently been responsible for some of Toyota’s most striking and headline-grabbing designs, including the Lexus LF-LC concept (which became the CDN award-winning Lexus LC500), plus the C-HR and Camry production cars. He also had a hand in the Lexus LF-1 Limitless concept soon to debut in Detroit.

Cartabiano is anticipated to spend three years in his new role.
