Eyes on Design salutes female designers

29 May 2018 | by Chris Maillard

We’ve always had a strong feeling that there should be more women involved in the car design industry (like GM’s Helen Emsley and Volvo’s Tisha Johnson, for instance) so we were delighted to see that US charity organisation Eyes on Design are hosting an all-woman panel discussion in Detroit on Friday June 8th.

Held in association with the Society of Automotive Historians, it features Constance Smith, author of recent book  (which, incidentally, sounds excellent) and 1950s GM designer MaryEllen Green, who was part of Harley Earl’s team, and the talk will be moderated by current-day GM designer Liz Wetzel.

If you’re anywhere near Detroit, get along there – it’s from 3-5pm at the Peacock Room in the fabulously restored Fisher Theatre. Sign up, and get more details, .
